The majority of food waste is generated at home. Food waste, including fruits and vegetables, makes up the majority of landfills, accounting for 50% of municipal solid waste (MSW).
In 2020, according to SWCorp, the total amount of food waste can fill up to 16 Twin Towers, and it became worse during the Covid-19 pandemic. 80% of waste is contributed by unused parts of fruits & vegetables in food preparation, whereas the remaining 20% is contributed by left-over food generated by consumers. Similar waste is generated by domestic households during the pandemic.
The project aims to impact SDG #12: Responsible Consumption and Production by bringing awareness to the Malaysian communities about food waste management and responsible consumer behavior by initiating easy and obvious actions towards reducing preventable food waste and fully utilizing the food waste for youths to influence their peers and their households.

To ensure youths consistently take easy and obvious action(s) to solve the food waste issue through the action initiative created by COP
To encourage youths' peers and family to take actions against food waste, creating a 'ripple effect'.
