Wah Hoo accumulated 9 years of experience in sales, marketing and brand management in a Fortune 500 company before transferring these experiences into managing social projects and building a resource platform for nonprofits.
Since 2013, Wah Hoo helped establish and kick start more than 25 rural and urban community education centers nationwide, managed a national project in 15 locations with a team of more than 70 members, immersed himself on the ground spending 4 months, a few days a week living in Orang Asli villages to coordinate education programs for the rural poor.
He managed the operation of a community funding platform that brought in more than RM5 million in donations to social projects, and more recently bringing NGOs in Malaysia together through the NGOhub platform working with government ministries, the Welfare Department, volunteer groups and corporations to solve social issues together.
Wah Hoo founded and runs GivingHub, a platform to encourage charitable giving, and help individuals and corporate donors to give more effectively.
Through NGOhub and Givinghub, he is working to trigger, facilitate and grow collaborations for social impact through the application of network science.
Ehsan strives to create social impact through Communications, Outreach and Fundraising initiatives at NGOhub and GivingHub. She’s an Arts graduate and alumna of UiTM, UPM and UM with research interest in the areas of Social Justice in Education. She chose a career in the non-profit and social impact sector out of passion, leveraging on her previous experiences and disaster-relief volunteering missions. Ehsan champions mental health, equitable education and poverty eradication.
In 2019, Ehsan was selected as Asia Youth International Model United Nations delegate from 13,000 applicants. She joined United Nations Volunteer (UNV) Program and United Nations Voices of Youth as part of it’s digital community. During the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, she volunteers on the frontline with healthcare workers to conduct mass-screening in Kuala Lumpur’s heavily populated residential areas.
She fundraises for charity annually to support organizations worldwide. The funds raised had went on to organizations such as Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA), Red Cross and Red Crescent, The Diana Award in the UK and more. Currently, she trains digital fundraisers through GivingHub free monthly fundraising training encouraging them to use the platform for good.
Through NGOhub and GivingHub, Ehsan aspires to co-create a giving sphere of accountable organizations, transparent practices, informed donors and maximized impact.
