Food for All: Giving Back Through Donation

The Story

Food waste is a pressing issue in Malaysia, with approximately 15,000 tonnes of food thrown away every day. This waste occurs throughout the supply chain from production to consumption. Cultural practices, distributional inefficiencies and lack of awareness contribute to the problem. In a country where a large portion of the population remains food insecure, addressing food waste is critical for sustainable resource management and combating hunger.

Hello, everyone! I'm Lam Heng Yih, a member of the Malaysian Youth Volunteer (MYV) for the Clean Our Plate 10.0 project. Our aim is to raise awareness about the significant issue of food waste in Malaysia and empower individuals to make informed choices that can help minimise food waste, promote sustainable development, and foster more responsible food consumption patterns. By donating to this fundraising program, you will be able to contribute to our key events, including educational tutorials and workshops, community outreach as well as awareness initiatives that elevate consciousness and stimulate efforts.
