The Story

Hi, my name is Shuen, and I am a BSc Biochemistry student at UTAR Kampar. I am an enthusiast when it comes to helping the society and its people.

Our campaign, Hope for Autism is aligned with the #10 SDG Reduced Inequalities movement. This goal is to ensure that no one is left behind including the autistic community. Hope for Autism is a charity in Ipoh that are accountable for the need to build a community in which children, young people and their families can feel they belong. Their purpose is to make a positive difference in the lives of autistic people.

Autism is a complicated condition that includes problems with communication and behaviour. There are a group of people that are unfortunately diagnosed with this condition. I aim to help raise public awareness of these special people. They are an integral part of our society and are in need of our help.

This fundraising aims to collect the funds needed to build a sensory room for autistic children. Sensory rooms are a great tool for autistic children, it is specially created environments that help them stay calm and reduce their anxiety while improving their focus. The sensory rooms will be built in the Hope for Autism Society building in Ipoh, Perak. Please visit our Facebook page for more details.
