THE PROBLEM

Growing up as a rebel teenager, Khai Aziz started to smoke and use drug at the age of 14. But he quits at the age of 21 when he saw the effects of drugs on his brother, leading to his family being torn apart and his mother facing negative judgement and pressured from people in the village they lived in, his mother also faced depression and had been traumatised for several years.

They decided to move to an isolated area to prevent his brother from relapsing again, protecting him from triggering by the pressure of his old friends, finally they managed to succeed after four years of rehabilitation and his brother got the strength back and started a new family. In addition to his experience with his family, many of his friends were drawn to drugs, some of them are in the rehab and some died.

But the turning point in his life is when he went to a fishing village to rescue a girl who will be sold by her own father for drug money. From that day, he started his war with DRUG!

With the current statistic by National Anti Drug Agency (AADK) showing that 23% of total drug user in 2017 are youth from 13-24 years old, it is time we revisit and reevaluate the strategy to implement awareness campaign among youth.

The old strategy of talk, seminar and awareness campaign doesn’t give enough impact to the youth. They need something more appealing to their liking such as music, art, theater and film. You can view the documentary about his support and passion in this cause here: https://www.scientology.tv/series/voices-for-humanity/clips/khai-aziz-trailer.html

And DYFA will innovate a new way to the boring drug campaign awareness in hopes to save more youth from trying and involve in drugs.

THE IMPACT

“We believe in rebelling through better living. You can be a real punk without wasting your life.” - Khai

To instil a culture that refrains from using alcohol, tobacco and other recreational drugs. Khai and DYFA want to encourage people especially youth to enjoy punk and rock music without being under the influence of the vices most hardcore punk artists are associated with.

TAnd Khai Aziz has been featured by Scientology for his effort in fighting drug abused in Malaysia. Watch his world premier here https://www.scientology.tv/series/voices-for-humanity/khai-aziz.html.

DYFA wants to show that this is not a practice, it is something you live in. It is cool, and that is what gives it an ‘edge’ in the fight against drugs – kids connect and identify to the music, and they look up to the bands. They also believe in advocating abstain from drugs, alcohol, tobacco and promiscuous sex.

The students across Malaysia will be taught to:

- the danger of illegal drugs abuse

- how to make better judgement when drugs is involved

- to live a fun healthy and safe environment without drugs

And ULTIMATELY, to prevent them from taking drugs.

PERMASALAHAN

LIVING DRUG FREE LIFESTYLE VIA ART

In short, not taking drugs cool!
