Greetings everyone! I'm Hui Shan, holding the position of Business Development Executive in AIESEC in UPM.
Let me introduce you to 'Speak Up!', a project targeting on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4. By 2030, we aim to substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.
English proficiency and STEM knowledge are two important factors of employability in the 21st century. In order to increase the number of young Malaysians with the necessary skills for employment in today's world, the Malaysian education system needs to resolve the following issues:
1) Students' low English proficiency level due to quality of national English language education. 2) Students' subpar performance in applying science and mathematics knowledge.
3) Gap in education quality between states and within states across Malaysia.
AIESEC in UPM is partnering with The Assemble Learning Center (TALC) for Speak Up. TALC was established to meet the need for education for the refugee community due to their lack of access to public education. The fund raised will be used to buy uniforms for the refugees.
Together, let's make education accessible for all!
