Preserve Our Planet: Empowering Change for a Greener Future

The Story

We are ECHO 3.0, a project initiated by AIESEC in UPM to tackle environmental issues, and we realize that change starts with us as students and individuals. This is about our future, which looks bleak in the face of climate change.

Through the funds we raise in this campaign, we wish to donate to the Global Environmental Centre (GEC), aiming towards the cause of river pollution. We also need your donations to sustain our project, conduct activities such as site clean-up, and raise awareness through school workshops. The DoE has five classifications of rivers, with Class 1 being the cleanest. A Class 5 river means that its water is so polluted that it is not suitable for use as either a water supply or even for irrigation. Today, rivers worldwide are severely polluted—mostly classified as classes 4 and 5, which eventually ruins the quality of our water supply. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), around 2 billion people worldwide consume water that is contaminated.
