If not now, then when?

The Story

Education has regarded as the essential element in one's life, regardless of age, as there is no end to learning. By textbook, we learn how a spaceship is built; by people, we learn how to be successful; by experience, as if we took a rollercoaster ride, going upwards until we reach the summit; going downwards as failures; getting stuck in a 360 route --- staying in our comfort zone. Nonetheless, we often overlook and push this thought to the back of our minds --- inequality. Who do we blame? Educators? Parents? Authorities? or Society? The answer to this would be "us".

It is thought that females who have had grown up in a patriarchal milieu face gender inequality as they mature. They are often regarded as house cleaner, helpers, stay-at-home parent. Most crucially, a person who does not deserve education. In this 21st century, where freedom of speech has gradually become the focus of world, with more feminists leading gender equality and justice, the act of inequality is no longer tolerated. Hence, it is time to change. I, as a volunteer of “Action for Equality” (AFE) by AIESEC, willing to hold onto that goal by advocating for gender equality. We are creating this fundraising website to raise fund for charitable organizations that support our cause.

How could you contribute to and have influence on the society? Seize the opportunity whenever you see it; as the title says, “if not now, then when?” With a glimmer of your contribution, the stars would no longer be hiding behind amidst the angelic-white and fluffy candy floss. Instead, it aligned and show off its inner beauty --- the yellow light --- as the moon shines. You may spread words about this fund-raising event as well! Thanks for your generosity <3
