Inclusivity Is You and Me

The Story

Hello! I am Sze Yan, student from Sunway College, and I am a volunteer from Get Fit Get Inclusive 7.0 (GFGI) project led by AIESEC in Sunway.

Nowadays, many people still lack a deeper understanding about the Special Needs Community, thus resulting in them to be hidden and discriminated in society. GFGI is a project aimed to reduce inequalities to assist Special Children in Malaysia by conducting activities that supports the development of Special Children's mental and social skill. It aligns with SDG #10 which calls for reducing inequalities.

As someone who had experience interacting with a special child at a music centre, it had made me realise that children from Special Needs Community are definitely able to fit in with other children and laugh with them if enough patience is given. It was certainly heart-warming to see how other children were able to be friends with the child! It would be a meaningful and precious experience for me if this project is able to make an impact on the community in need and more people from the Special Needs Community can fit in.

As such, let’s be a part of this change as equality starts from you and me! Thank you for your time and contribution. :)
