The Story

I'm Foo Jia Wen, a Malaysian Youth Volunteer who is passionate in making changes to create a better life for the people around me, and maybe that's why I chose an engineering course, specifically Chemical Engineering, at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). I always believed that speaking up can be positive for promoting awareness that people might have neglected.

Do you know that more than 72 million children around the world remain unschooled? While over 1 million Malaysian-born children do not have the opportunity to receive an education? As we are all well aware, education is the right of every child and is an important part of nation building. An educated country will provide the people with a healthier, wealthier, and more stable life.

Our campaign, Speak Up Project 8.0 is aligned with the SDG 4: Quality Education. We aim to provide a unique learning space for students to gain personal development and help them to gain technical skills that can help with their future employment.
