Be a fundraising hero for the future of youth in STEM education!

The Story

Hi, I am Dorothea Jong from AIESEC in Penang. A little introduction: I have always been reluctant to get involved in any activities as a highly introverted person. However, deep inside, I have always thought of wanting to contribute to society, especially in education, but that was it. Having spent almost two years in isolation while attending online classes, it conjured to me that I had to make a change for myself and that was when l found out about the opportunity to volunteer for the Speak Up 8.0 Project advocating for STEM and English by delivering STEAM knowledge to B40 students. 

In support of their STEAM education development, a fundraising effort has been initiated with the goal of sparking students’ interest in Chemistry through a soap-making workshop under the Speak Up 8.0 Project. All proceeds from this fundraising drive will go towards the purchase of soap kits which will then be distributed to B40 students, aged 15-17 years old in Malaysia.
