The Story

Clean Our Plate is a project founded by AIESEC in Malaysia in 2016. We aim to eliminate at least 50% of the food waste among youth in Malaysia by the year 2030 through cultivating responsible consumption habits.

Malaysians waste up to 8000 tonnes of food (approx. 16,000,000 pizzas, assuming each weighs about 500 grams), and that’s equivalent to about six million people’s feeding capacity, everyday. Preventable food waste is the large source of solid waste and a primary driver of greenhouse gas emissions.

I'm Aiman, a Malaysian Youth Volunteer participating in the Clean Our Plate project. I am adamantly committed to reducing food waste, and I want everyone to realise how important it is to do so. I have witnessed this issue in my own home, and I am adamant that others should change how we handle food waste and support those who continue to endure food insecurity.

Assist me in achieving my objectives to improve the food security and living conditions of poor communities in Sarawak. Tomorrow, let's ensure them food and establish a better life for them.
