The Story

Hi, my name is Yue Ning, a volunteer from AIESEC in Sunway for the 'Get Fit Get Inclusive' project. This project aims to raise awareness and reduce inequalities among Special Needs Children. Fund raised from this campaign will be given to the IMC Training Centre to support the special needs children and their daily operations. 

Did you know that in Malaysia, 1 out of 3 believes that children with disabilities should be hidden away. The understanding of special needs children has been lacking, many people did not know how to interact with them. When I first came across this issue, I felt sad for them because they are nothing different from us! They just need more time to get used to the environment.

I have quite a lot of chances to interact with children because of my work, some children have learning disabilities and it is hard for them to study independently. However, some parents might not see this as a big issue because in our community this topic is less discussed. So this is why I’ve come into interested in volunteering for this project. I hope I can put all my effort to help the children to have a better studying environment.
