Be the Different, Make a Difference

The Story

Hello, I am Shu En. A first-year student in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) who pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. 

Have you ever come across some underprivileged kids with difficulty in delivering a complete English sentence? Or simply come across news where students find it hard to enter the workforce as they do not meet the minimum English proficiency? Yes, English is a language which being neglected among Malaysian nowadays.

Here come with the Speak Up! Project, which I volunteered to help out during the coming semester break. This project aims to spread awareness among youths to realise the importance of English while integrating them in STEM knowledge. We realized that youths nowadays are actually lacking space to boost their confidence in English speaking hence Speak Up! Project provides a platform for youth to develop their English speaking confidence in a cross-cultural environment.

By this, I sincerely encourage everyone, whether you have English as your mother language or learning English out of interest to support this fundraiser by donating to it. We never know if a little action by one will be an important stepping stone in driving youth to enhance their communication skill with one more language.
