From Me To You

The Story

Hi, I am Tan Tze Lin, from Klang, Selangor. A 21-year-old student studying Bachelor of Management in USM, Penang. I am a person of compassion and empathy, who wishes to help people in need given the opportunity and my current capabilities. It is my pleasure to be here to advocate for everyone to reduce food waste for the greater good.

Currently, I am joining the Clean Our Plate campaign as a local virtual volunteer. It enhances my knowledge in food waste issues and allows me to have awareness of the importance of SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production. Have you guys ever realized, that the food waste issue has been overly alarming and worrying globally? Yes, indeed.

Globally, there are 821.6 million people that are considered undernourished or starving especially in third world countries such as Somalia, Africa, and our country as well, Malaysia. Therefore, I am fundraising a campaign right now to create awareness about food waste and hunger issues among the public. With just a little bit, we can change the world for the better. The money that we raised will be shared with APEN (for sustainability) and Green Hero. Technically, Green Hero is a food bank, by using the money we raised, they will help us by buying food and distributing them to the needy like B40 families, old folks' homes, or orphanage farms.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER! A simple step might never bring any impact to the world. However, together we could influence and make the world a better place for everyone. Come on, what are you still waiting for?
