TOGETHER WE HELP THE NEEDY

The Story

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! My name is Izzati and I'm a 3rd year student of accounting at Uitm Puncak Alam. I'm currently volunteering for "Clean Our Plate" project of AIESEC in University of Malaya. I'm passionate in creating awareness to public to reduce food waste and make a world better without food wastage.

According to SWCorp, Malaysians threw away more than 16.667 tonnes of food daily. About 24% of the food waste is still edible, making them enough to feed about 12 million people per day! This food wastage is such a never ending issue in Malaysia. It's heartbreaking to learn that food is being thrown away despite the fact that many people are hungry.

Thus, "Clean Our Plate" project of AIESEC in UM will cooperate with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia to collect funds to purchase food donation items for the underprivileged end beneficiary. This will benefit around 150 communities that will assist them during this challenging pandemic period.

Remember, our small action can give huge impact towards someone life. Let's make change together and help the needy. Any amount of donation counts! With that, thank you and stay safe :)

Below are the food donation list that will be received by each of beneficiaries :

1. Mini Rice Cake 30s (20g)

2. Margarine (1kg)

3. Orange Cordial (2kg)

4. Potato (2.5kg)

5. Onion (1.5kg)

6. Eggs Grade C 30s (60g)

70% of the funds will go back to the underprivileged end beneficiary whereas 30% will be used for future projects development.
