Give Darish Mikhail a fighting chance!

The Story

We, Carmen, Chee San, Maalaviga, Saibya, and Thoraya, students from the Department of Biological Sciences, School of Medical and Life Sciences of Sunway University are organizing a crowdfunding campaign for Darish Mikhail as part of our community service. We are tasked to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through our social media page on Instagram. The theme of our content is around SDG 3, which focuses on good health and the promotion of well-being for all ages. As a result, we have decided to crowdfund for this specific campaign

Darish is a 3-year-old boy with Down syndrome who was diagnosed with leukaemia in September 2021. He stopped responding to the current chemotherapy plan on December 24 where he needed stronger, more costly medication. Leukaemia is a blood cancer that significantly decreases an individual’s immune system, its impact is even more severe for 3-year-olds like Darish.

Currently, Darish’s father is the only source of income in the family, which is being used to treat Darish’s expensive treatment on top of providing for his family of 6. His monthly wages are unable to cover the medical treatment, but YOU can make a difference.

Thus, we are asking for YOUR help in Darish’s fight against leukaemia. Your donation will directly help with Darish’s treatment and any unexpected medical circumstances that may arise. Your donation will help alleviate the family’s financial burden so that Darish’s father and mother can focus on taking care of him and his siblings. Let’s give Darish Mikhail a fighting chance!
