Throughout the pandemic, Malaysians have been confronted with a variety of losses. Many of us are simply grateful for the ability to live semi-normally, interact with loved ones, and put food on the table for ourselves and our families.
But what about those who are not able to do so? Those of us who are from underprivileged communities who have become unemployed or lost family breadwinners due to the pandemic? Or those who have had their entire livelihoods turned upside down by the events of the floods? How will these people feed their families?
Many of us have had the privilege of feeling full after a meal before our plate is empty, and over 4,000 tonnes of edible food ends up in Malaysia's landfills daily.
There is a way to aid in the redistribution of these foods away from landfills and into the homes of hungry individuals. As volunteers of the AIESEC Clean Our Plates campaign, we plan on doing exactly that in collaboration with The Lost Food Project to help recover surplus food and redistribute them to those who need it.
But of course, we can't do this alone. There is a way for you and your community of family and friends to make a difference to the cause!
As a non-governmental organisation, The Lost Food Project relies on our donations to help underprivileged families. Help us make a difference in someone's life by donating to the fundraiser and supporting those who need it! Every donation counts and with any small amount, you can make a huge change.
