When we were little, we may not have really understood what happened to the food that got thrown away. We knew that spoiled foodstuffs would go to the trash, then the garbage truck, then the landfill. But then, what? What happens to it after that? Does it just biodegrade back into the soil?
Well, we know now. The answer is yes, and no.
Food waste, among other biodegradable wastes, in landfills contribute to the mass production of methane. As it enters the atmosphere, it becomes both a health hazard and greenhouse gas more harmful than carbon dioxide.
AIESEC Sunway's Clean Our Plate initiative, therefore, aims to reduce the food waste produced locally by working with youth to raise awareness on this issue. But, we can't do it alone.
In alignment with our goal, this campaign aims to raise RM600 by the 30th of January. All proceeds will head towards The Lost Food Project and the Sunway B40 communities.
Help us reach our ultimate goal and secure the future we deserve.

On that note, to help boost our cause, we are participating in a challenge!
For each milestone we reach, either one or the both of us will try a 'bizarre' food combination that's found in our pantry, and film our experiences on Instagram and Facebook. The way we look at it, it's an opportunity to find out unexpected ways to save food.
Our milestones are as follows:
RM 100 ------> RM 300 ------> RM600
