The Story

Hi there!

I'm Jessica. Have you ever felt a calling to give back to your community in some way or form, no matter how big or small? Well this is mine. If there is one thing i'm passionate about, it is inclusivity, making sure no one gets left behind.

This is why this cause means a lot to me. While we have stepped into the digital era of the 21st century, there are communities that lack access to basic electricity connections. This is the reality of many Orang Asli (indigenous) communities in Malaysia.

Living in rural areas far from the nearest on-grid electric connections has forced them to resort to outdated means of generating energy, from candles, to generators and kerosene lamps. These are not only expensive (USD150 monthly), but also affects every aspect of their lives, from studying, to daily tasks, like cooking, switching on the lights and fans, and more.

The Solution?

Lights For Life is a project aiming to solve this issue by supplying Orang Asli (indigenous) families with the Pico Solar Technology set that will hopefully aid them in their lives. In light of this, I want to raise a starting amount of RM2,000 that will fund the installion of solar panels for 3 families.

Will you help me achieve my goal?
