Are you ready to make an impact with me?
I'm Looi Jo Ping, a university student currently studying in International University of Malaya-Wales and a Local Virtual Volunteer for the Clean Our Plate project organised by AIESEC in UM. I am passionate about empowering others to lead the full and fulfilling lives we all deserve,
Why am I doing this?
The reason why I am fundraising is because I believe No One Deserves To Go Hungry. Ever since the start of the lockdown, numerous Malaysians households and breadwinners have lost their jobs and struggle day-by-day to feed themselves and their families. It has gotten so bad to the extent that people have started putting out white flags out of their homes to plead for extra food and resources, under the grass-roots social media campaign, #benderaputih.

After hearing about the struggles of my fellow Malaysians, I felt so heartbroken to hear of the devastation. I admit that I have lead a life of privilege and have never had to face hunger and poverty, but I knew that if people had to spend most of their days figuring out where they were going to get their next meal, I knew that they wouldn't be able to live the good lives they deserve. I wanted to do something about it, and with this campaign, I can, and so can you!
Why You Should Donate
70% of the funds donated will be given to Yayasan Food Bank (https://www.instagram.com/foodbankmalaysia/) to help the underprivileged end beneficiaries, and 30% to AIESEC in UM (https://www.instagram.com/aiesecinum/) used for future projects development.
If you are like me, you'd prefer that 100% of the proceeds go to the charity directly, but believe me, it's through initiatives like AIESEC that enables and empowers youths to start programs like this, and in effect, start a chain-event of even more charitable acts!
The tentative food donation list that will be received per beneficiaries are as follow: (with the goal of impacting around 150 communities to assist them during this difficult pandemic period)
1. Mini Rice Cake 30s (20g)
2. Margarine (1kg)
3. Orange Cordial (2kg)
4. Potato (2.5kg)
5. Onion (1.5kg)
6. Eggs Grade C 30s (60g)
I look forward to making an impact with you through our collective donations! Together, we can make our country, and to a further extent, the world, a better place for you and for me!
