Tertiary Education for B40 Students

The Story

Quality education is essential in order for students to secure a proper future and gain the skill sets necessary to become a valuable individual in the workforce. Communication and technical skills in particular are extremely crucial for future employability. Such quality education has always been less accessible for certain demographics, and this gap has been widened by the pandemic. As a result, these affected students later face challenges with employment and securing a proper future for themselves.

The solution:

1. Providing STEM and personal development workshops

By conducting workshops to teach students Excel, video editing, pitching, speaking and presentation skills, we aim to equip students with essential skills for their future, and narrow down the education gap between students of various backgrounds. 

2. Providing laptops

To eliminate accessibility issues,  we will be providing the students with laptops so that each student can easily access the workshops. 

3. Providing cash prizes to incentivize students

By participating in our workshops and completing them, students will get the opportunity to win cash prizes through implementing their newly acquired skills. With this we hope to encourage students to learn and complete the sessions.

THE IMPACT

We have partnered with schools such as SMK Puchong Permai and SMK Puchong Batu 14, and run workshops to equip a number of students with STEM and personal development skills, therefore helping them be more ready for future employment scenes. 

We also aim to utilize any crowdfunding revenue to continue supporting different B40 student communities around Bandar Sunway in the future.
