Providing education for the B40 students

The Story

THE PROBLEM

B40 groups are the most vulnerable group that need quality education to secure a proper future for themselves. Communication skills and technical skills are very crucial in the future for employability. This quality education cannot be reached out from most B40 groups, which will affect their future in securing a proper job. This problem also has been become more serious with the cause of the pandemic.

THE SOLUTION

• Providing STEM and personal development workshops 

By conducting workshops to teach the students Excel, video editing, pitching, speaking, and presentations skills, we can equip the students with some essential skills that are really useful for their future and this will also narrow down the education gap between students from various backgrounds.

• Providing Laptops

Providing laptops to the B40 groups to eliminate accessibility issues. Laptops will be provided to the students so that they can access the workshops easily.

• Providing cash prizes to incentive students.

Students that completed our workshops will have the opportunity to win cash prizes by implementing their newly learned skills. This is to encourage the students to complete the sessions without quitting halfway.

THE IMPACT

We will be teaching the students from schools such as SMK Puchong Permai and SMK Puchong Batu 14 and run workshops to equip a number of students with STEM ad personal development skills. This is to prepare them for their future employment skills.

The crowdfunding will be helping and supporting the B40 students around Bandar Sunway in the future.

PERSONAL DETAILS

Hi everyone, I am a student from the University College of Technology and a volunteer from Speak Up! 9.0 Summer 2021 by AIESEC in Sunway. As a university student, I saw a lot of students give up their education because they cannot effort it and rather continue their studies, they go to work to support their families. This is heartbreaking as most of them have the potential to excel in their academics if they continue and work hard on it. Most of them who quit secondary school or high school could be ended up unemployed because of their lack of skills.

I am fundraising this campaign is to help those who cannot access quality education. This is to encourage them to continue their education to a certain level so that they can secure their future and this would drastically reduce the unemployment rate in Malaysia especially the B40 groups.
