Spread the Love, Feed the Hungry

The Story

Hi, there! I am Cheryl Sin Pei En, an undergraduate student from University Malaya. I am also a volunteer for Clean Our Plate of AIESEC in UM. Thus, I am here to create an impact by increasing awareness of the public towards the food waste issue and raise funds for those who are in need.

Did you know Malaysians waste about 16,688 tonnes of food daily? The tallest twin towers in the world is Malaysia’s Petronas Twin Towers, standing at 451.9 metres tall. Now try to imagine 16 of these twin towers being filled to the brim with food waste? This could well be the reality if we don’t start taking action to tackle the problem of food waste. That amount also can feed around 2.2 million people, three times a day. Thus, is time for us to make a change! 

This is a crowdfunding campaign by Clean Our Plate AIESEC in University Malaya in collaboration with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia. The objective is to raise funds that will be used to purchase food donation items for the underprivileged end beneficiary.
