The Story

Greetings! We are Julia Natasya, Dennis Foo, Yee Ying Kek and Xin Yi, volunteers from AIESEC Malaysia.

AIESEC is the world's largest youth-run non-profit organisation that provides leadership development, cross-cultural global internships, and volunteer exchange opportunities to young people all around the world. The organisation focuses on equipping young leaders with the tools they need to make a significant difference in society through their actions.

With that being said, we are raising funds for persons with disabilities in order to make a difference in this community and make the world a better place for them.

They suffered from development delays and congenital conditions which we believe has been so difficult to deal with throughout this pandemic. There are so many disabilities that exist in this world and let us share the few most common ones.

First, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); a developmental disability that begins during childhood and last throughout a person's life. Isn't it common to observe people with ASD struggle with social and communication skills? This lockdown may exacerbate the problems as they are not being exposed to others.

Then, there's Down Syndrome. Down Syndrome is frequently linked to cognitive and physical growth impairments, as well as a distinct set of facial traits. People with Down Syndrome have lower-than-average cognitive abilities, which makes them vulnerable to discrimination. We are certain that no one should be treated unfairly simply because they were born different. After all, it is not our differences that separate us; it's the inability to recognize, accept, and cherish differences.

Hence, we are trying to play our role as a society to help them by running this campaign. Apart from fundraising, we are also raising awareness through social medias in hope that it will open everyone's eyes to the fact that just because they are living with a certain condition does not mean they should be perceived and treated any differently. There is no greater disability in society, than the inability to see a person as more.

By supporting us, you are supporting people with disabilities, their families and caregivers. Every amount you donate is vital in achieving our aim of improving the lives of those who are living with disabilities. Let's make the world a better place, shall we?

"if not us, then who? if not now, then when?" - John Lewis
