The Story

Hi, this is Joey, Tze Yau and Yee Lly!

The Lift a Hand, Light a LYFE fundraiser aims to raise funds for 2 underprivileged children homes - Budimas Charitable Foundation and Agathians Shelter Home. The funds collected will be used to buy daily necessities, sanitation items and educational materials for these children. Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could mean the world for someone. Hence, we hope you would support us by contributing to improve the lives of these underprivileged children.

A short message from Joey, Tze Yau and Yee Lly -

Joey
Hi! My name is Joey. I am currently studying Actuarial Science in Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. My passion for volunteering started during high school when I was exposed to its ideology. Being able to make a difference in the community was something I yearn to do since then but due to the pandemic everything was put on hold. I decided to fundraise for this campaign as I want to impact the children’s life. I am grateful for being able to continue my studies but knowing that there are children out there who are not as privileged as I am disheartens me. So, I would like to change that. I want to make a difference in these children’s life. Will you support me in the journey to make a change into the children’s life?

Tze Yau
Hi! I am Tze Yau. Currently, I have just finished my Foundation in Business at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. I am grateful to have this opportunity to help underprivileged children in Malaysia through this LYFE project which is created by AIESEC in Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. I got the chance to make a fundraising page which I will then share with my friends, families and the public as well on social media platforms. I hope that the money raised can help these underprivileged children to fulfil their needs and get the proper education that they deserve.

Yee Lly
Hello everyone, this is Yee Lly! I have always been passionate about helping people, which was one of the main reasons why I am studying psychology now – to better understand the underlying reasons behind mental health issues. As I came across the LYFE project, it came to my attention that many underprivileged Malaysian children are often overlooked and have limited access to free education. Therefore, I knew I had to do something about this as education should be available for everyone, regardless of one’s personal background. I am playing my part by fundraising for these children, but I would also need your help in order for this campaign to be a success. Let us give the gift of education to these children together!
