Heyya peepss! Keaschvinni Raja @ KC here.
Basically, I'm a person who brought up in a way not- knowing the pain of hunger but my parents were so strict to me in the sense of FOOD WASTE! That is mainly because my parents train and follow the principle No Food Wasting at Home in my family. We were advised to take food in a small quantity and my parents let us to go for several rounds, but taking so many food amount at once and threw them into dustbin when we cant finish up? NO! Never happened in all my 20 years of life... But, it is so disturbing for me, as I will be having so many people around me whom just so in love to waste food that too in a big amount. And, THEY ARE NOT feeling GUILTY about it!
WHY SAVE FOOD?
Food brings people together. Before it arrives in our stores, it has been meticulously grown and tended for months.
It's a social activity, a comfort, a necessity, and a luxury all rolled into one. Despite this, we squander 7.34 million tonnes of it in Malaysia households each year, 3,000 million of which is edible. We're not talking about chicken bones or egg shells. We're talking about the final few morsels from your plate that you couldn't finish, or your bread crusts or potato peelings — anything that could have been turned into something tasty.
[ LOVE YOUR FOOD ]
When your food is on your plate and ready to eat, it is at its best. It'll keep in your fridge until you're ready to use it, or you can freeze it for later. When it's in your trash, it's at its worst. Saving food means saving money, but it's also important to consider the wider picture. Food waste reduction is helpful for the environment since it helps to halt global warming.
If global food waste were a country, it would rank third in terms of greenhouse gas emissions behind China and the United States. You're helping the earth by consuming every edible part of your food; imagine what we could accomplish if we all did our part!
FOR THE NATION, AND FOR YOUR WALLET!
By decreasing food waste, the average household of four may save slightly over £60 a month. Every action, whether you're shopping for groceries or eating a meal at a restaurant, is an opportunity to keep food out of the trash. If you don't want a side salad, specify that you don't want one with your meal. Don't be seduced by the additional portion if you won't make good use of it. Ask for a brown bag if you can't complete your main course! We should appreciate food because it was created to be cherished.
Every person, we believe, has a role to play in eliminating food waste and caring for the environment. The time has come, and the solution is straightforward: love food, hate waste.
We'll be there to support you every step of the way.”
