Let's Combat Food Waste Together!

The Story

Hello everyone! My name is Zaatil Syaima Asmawi and I am currently a first year law student in University of Malaya. My passion has always been about contributing to the greater good. Having said that, do you know that one in every nine people in this world are undernourished? What about the fact that Malaysians waste an average of 16,688 tonnes of food per day? You see, facts like these are significant in our daily lives. With these facts, we can start to take the necessary measures to mitigate the problems.

Under this pandemic, food is scarce. We have read the news on how hard it is for some people to survive under this economy. Thus, through this campaign, Clean Our Plate AIESEC in University of Malaya will collaborate with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia to help those who are severely affected by COVID-19 by supplying them 460kg of food donation item. Not only that, we also aim to spread awareness regarding the importance of managing our food waste.
