According to the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp), Malaysians produce enough food waste to fill seven Olympic-sized swimming pools daily.
Among 38,000 tonnes of domestic waste daily, 17,000 tonnes (45%) of them are food waste, and around 4,080 tonnes are still edible.
This is saddening as this amount is able to feed three million people three meals per day.
Greetings. My name is Yi Hui and I am an active member of AIESEC in Penang. We are fundraising for one of the project named Clean Our Plate. Clean Our Plate aims to increase awareness, change attitude along with initiate easy and obvious actions of youth towards reducing preventable food waste and fully utilizing food waste. Last winter, we had organized a food donation drive to fundraise for B40 families.
Join us in force by donating and spread the awareness to reduce food waste to contribute to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12 by United Nation - Responsible Consumpution and Production.
Your little contribution means a lot to us.
