The Story

 Hi, I am kah hua. The reason I am fundrising for this program is to project my passion in reducing food waste in Malaysia. Clean Our Plate is here to do so. 

I would like to share some experiences on one of the food drive event that I have gone to last winter before Covid-19 hits Malaysia. Right before the semester break (around December 2019) , COP had organised food donation in Universiti Sains Malaysia as we planned to do home-visit of the homeless. On that day, we served the homeless with food and we got to talked with them for a while. Different stories been shared with us as we chat. I must say that I feel more than grateful to be born in a happy family, able to go to school like most of you do, basically whatever I wished for. But those who went to the light house are not the same. Some of them were abandoned, got released from prison and unemployed ever since. Out of all the here has been this one man who I really respect. He was no homeless. However, bringing no single penny but only one diary and a pen, he experienced the life as all other homeless. Looking for places to bath, sleep and eat. He even shared with me good places to borrow reading materials! As William Shakespeare once said, all that glitters is not gold." He is a wise man indeed and I feel I could learn so much from him if it was not time to bid goodbye.

It is always more blessed to give than receive and I think that's the reason that you could share your helping hand to the needy.
