Hi there, thank you for your interest in my fundraising page! I am Georgia, a final year student from Universiti Sains Malaysia. I am passionate in helping and contributing to the local communities, and thanks to AIESEC, I have had the opportunity to develop my passion.
This is my first time joining the Clean Our Plate (COP) project by AIESEC in Penang, and with the knowledge that I have in hand, I am keen to contribute to make this project a success. I have learned that food waste accounts for the majority of the waste composition in Malaysia, with panic buying during the first phase of MCO has further worsened the food waste problem in the country.
While some of us remain fortunate to have sufficient food on our table and still able to generate food wastes, some are living in starvation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the implementation of the MCO hampering business activities in the country, many have lost their job and earnings, leaving those from low-income families struggling to put food on the table. Such crisis has also forced these families to adopt less healthy diets, which could further exacerbate the worsening child malnutrition crisis in the country.
This time, the Clean Our Plate project will be conducting a Food Donation Drive, with the fundraising campaign held virtually through GivingHub, to raise funds for the underprivileged families in Penang. Your donation will be used to buy essential food supplies and channelled to 100 underprivileged families in Penang.

Thank you so much in advance for your kind contribution. May God bless you abundantly.
