Let's raise funds for Cancer!! - Adrian's Funraising Campaign

The Story

Cancer can be defined as a large group of diseases that can start in almost any organ or tissue of the body when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably which would spread to other organs. The latter process is called metastasizing and is a major cause of death from cancer. A neoplasm and malignant tumour are other common names for cancer.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally, accounting for an estimated 9.6 million deaths, or one in six deaths, in 2018. Lung, prostate, colorectal, stomach and liver cancer are the most common types of cancer in men, while breast, colorectal, lung, cervical and thyroid cancer are the most common among women. (WHO)

Unfortunately, a lot of people are currently suffering from this ranging from children to adults. I am currently funraising this campaign in conjunction with Here 4 You which is organised by AISEC in Taylor's University. The funds collected would be donated to the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) where it would fully utilized to benefit the lives of cancer fighters. I decided to join this funraising campaign as I want to make an impact on the lives of cancer patients which do not have the priviledge or financial support to bare the costs of their treatment. By donating to my funraising campaign, not only would you be able to ensure that the cancer patients would have the financial support for their medical treatment but also you would be able to provide them with basic neccesitites such as food, shelter and education as well as ensuring emotional support to them in their journey to beat cancer !!

What are the objectives of this funraising campaign?

1. Make an impact on the lives of cancer patients ranging from children to adults

2. Providing financial support so that the current amendities such as "Children's Home of Hope" and soon "Adults Home of Hope" in National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) can be sustained

3. Providing basic nessesities to cancer children so that they are able to obtain what they need to fight cancer.

Donations would be collected to raise funds for:

Children's Home of Hope

• PediaSure Milk Powder

Adult's Home of Hope

• Home Appliances (Dryer, Vacuum cleaner, Standing fan, etc.)
• Kitchen Appliances (Rice cooker, Blender, Toaster, etc.)
• Household items (Mattresses, Wardrobe)

I am sure that all of us are going through uncertain and difficult times at the moment especially with MCO 2.0 and the whole Covid-19 situation, so why not we do what we can to provide financial support and make an impact in the lives of  those who are really in need of help in times like this. No matter how big or small your donation is it is truly appreciated and I am sure that it will definitely change the lives of the cancer fighters!!
