Take Accountability: Crowdfunding for Special Needs Community

The Story

Ways to support this campaign:

• Purely donating without claiming any merchandises (you may donate any amount by clicking the donate button above in this page). OR

• Donate a certain donate amounts and use the form to claim your desired item.

Standard Procedures for claiming merchandise:

1. Check out Merchandise Selection Form and decide how much you want to donate to get the merchandise item/package + RM 5~10 extra fees to cover shipping cost. 
2. For example: To claim for the merchandise set 1 (T-Shirt + Tote bag + Mug) = RM90 + RM5~10 Shipping Fee=100, (just key in rm95 or so because there will be 6.5% tax added) donate through this GivingHub page "donate button", and fill in all the necessary information.
3. After you have successfully donated to this page, go to Merchandise Selection Form and attach your proof of payment/donation (screenshots or etc), claim the merchandise you desire and fill in necessary information.

如何帮忙捐款：

• 方法二：捐款达到一个数目换取精美礼品

精美礼品换取步骤：

1. 先查看Merchandise Selection Form，决定想换取哪些礼品(网页下方有图片及价格）
2. 如果是要 merchandise set 1 (T-Shirt + Tote bag + Mug) = RM90 + RM5~10 Shipping Fee=rm100。决定好就回到GivingHub 这个网页，会有一个红色的 “donate” button。
3. 转入刚刚所决定的礼品价格，可以捐RM95（因为会加上6.5%tax，加了之后就达到rm100），填写资料并转帐。
4. 成功捐款后请到Merchandise Selection Form，在这网页附上截图或任何转帐的图片和填写一些基本资料以及选下刚刚决定好的礼品。

T-shirts --> RM38 (RM35 + 6.5% tax)
Tote bags --> RM28 (RM25 + 6.5% tax)
Porcelain mugs --> RM28 (RM25 + 6.5% tax)
Wristbands --> RM5

Packages/deals:
Set 1: T-Shirt + Tote bag + Mug → RM90 (worth RM95.85)
Set 2: T-Shirt + Tote bag → RM65 (worth RM70)
Set 3: T-Shirt + Porcelain Mug → RM65 (worth RM70)
Set 4: Tote Bag + Porcelain Mug → RM 55 (worth RM60)

Personal sports challenge:

In conjunction with this crowdfunding campaign, I will be doing a sport challenge if my Take Accountability page’s donation could reach RM1000 :100 push-ups, 100 squats, 100 sit-ups, 100 biceps curl and 1000 skips. Please donate if you would like to see me suffer. <3

Updated on 20/1/2021: Target of RM1000 reached，I will do the challenge no matter what. To increase my accountability, and show more supports to the special needs community, I will do additional challenge of 3km run and increase the to 2000 skips if my page donation reach RM2000. Video will be upload on 3/2/2021.

20/1/2021：我会兑现承诺做以上的挑战，为了帮忙更多特殊儿童/人群，我决定：如果达到rm2000，我会额外加上3公里的跑步和跳绳1000次（全部2000次）。挑战影片将会在3/2/2021上载。

How often have we neglected the fact that special needs communities are not receiving the disablility benefits and assistance they deserve from society? I guess, we are unconscious about them the majority of the time, and overlooking their existence whenever they need help.  Not only my guiltiness which had pushed me forward to go for this crowdfunding activity but also the lack of accountability from the public encourages me to raise awareness.

Before joining the GFGI project, I have not realised that special needs community is having a scarce of resources: a lack of voluntary manpower and education materials. Notably, the current pandemic of COVID-19 worsens the situation, I am truly worried and concerned about the specially-disabled children because they are losing their best period in improve and developing essential skills. These mandatory skills were crucial and allow them to have a greater chance in acheiving success. 

By supporting this crowdfunding campaign, you could:

• Assist IMC training centre for special needs in coping with the challenges they faced and to reduce their financial burden. Allow IMC centre able to continue in providing a safe and secure environment for special needs children.
• Raise funds to execute AIESEC’s Get Fit Get Inclusive initiative (GFGI) which, in alignment with SDG Goal #10: Reduced Inequalities, aims to assist Special Children in Malaysia by conducting activities.
