The Story

Hi, it’s Irshika here. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to visit my fundraiser page, it really means a lot to me. On top of that, you’re on your way to making a difference in the lives of differently-abled children!

The pandemic has brought the worst out of inequalities to light. It makes me wonder how can I lead a relatively comfortable life while someone else is struggling to make it pass a day? Needless to say, this situation has tremendously impacted the special needs children community. Those enrolled in special education classes have not been able to get back to school due to the pandemic—without proper access to education, we’re further disabling the disabled.

Many special needs children facilities are facing financial issues as well due to lack of funding. One such centre is the IMC Training Centre for Special Needs, an establishment dated back to 30 years ago. With a total of 12 children, IMC trains children to lead an independent lifestyle by including them in social activities and giving them the freedom to run their own restaurant, IMC restaurant!

I have decided to advocate the Include Me campaign and do my part in helping the special needs community. Regardless of the amount of your contribution, you could lend a helping hand to:

• Buy basic necessities such as grocery supplies for children enrolled in the IMC centre.
• Continue operations and activities which are tailored to improve the development of special needs children.
• Build a new branch of IMC with facilities to accommodate a larger number of special needs children.
