Hi, we are Selene, Jasmine and Edina!

We are fundraising for the GIFT A Future campaign that is organised by AIESEC in HWUM to help raise funds for 2 homes for underprivileged children, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Yesuvin Mahligai (YM) Selangor and Buku Jalanan Chow Kit. The funds will be used to buy educational materials and daily necessities such as face masks and sanitation items. Your donation will help these homes sustain their daily operations and shine a ray of light in the lives of underprivileged children in Malaysia. Help out the great cause by donating to the campaign! A few words from Selene, Jasmine and Edina:-

Selene

My name is Selene and I have just joined AIESEC's LYFE project to fundraise for the underprivileged children. I believe, like myself, a lot of us are quite blessed. Most of us have shelter, parents and are financially stable. We have the financial means to occasionally splurge on nice cafes or trips. However, there are people out there struggling to even eat 3 meals a day and even getting basic education is hard. I hope that you can join our effort to make a small difference in their lives and show that there are still people out there who care for them!

Jasmine

Hi! I am Jasmine, currently a second-year medical student. As I stumbled upon this campaign through a chance at virtual volunteering, it has prompted me to step out of my comfort zone to take a good look at my own circumstances and privilege of having access to education, all the way from when I was a toddler learning the alphabets in kindergarten to where I am now, in a tertiary education centre pursuing a career in the healthcare field. I believe that by giving all children a chance at the best education possible, only can we dare to dream of a brighter future.

Edina

Hi! My name is Edina! I believe in equal access to quality education for all children and I believe that the future of Malaysia lies in the hands of the next generation. Unfortunately, the wellbeing of underprivileged children in Malaysia is often overlooked by the public, especially during times of crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic that is happening right now. It breaks my heart that homes for underprivileged children are financially disadvantaged during the pandemic and that the children are missing out on school and opportunities to develop academically. I’m grateful to be a part of this fundraiser and I hope you can join the good cause too by donating to the campaign!
