I am Devamayi mostly known as Deva. I am someone who was brought up in a way i'll never know the pain of hunger. But i understood it in a very early age, thanks to curiosity. My parents always practiced 'no waste' system in our house. Starting from clothes we wear, which is recycled most of the times and i get my elder sister's clothes, to food. We are allowed to take food several rounds but there is no such thing of taking all at once and throwing it away when we can't finish it up. But I have always came around people who throw away food and they don't seem to be guilty about it al all, in fact they appeared satisfied. So i thought maybe it was fun and my parents are not those who could understand it. And here comes my CURIOSITY! I THREW AWAY FOOD! I was a kid and too bad in hiding crimes, so yes i was caught. I was already feeling guilty for my action, there was no fun, no happiness, nothing good out of it. And when i get caught, all my parents did was to feed me double the amount i threw away. 
The pain in LACK OF FOOD, I realised through EXCESS FOOD! 

Food is an essential part of every human's life, and one thing that needs to be ended before poverty and equality is HUNGER. 

Not all of us are priviledged to contribute to this issue directly. But one of the best ways to contribute to this predicament is not by wasting the food we get. By appreaciating what we have, we are able to reduce food wastage, which are mostly edible. 

When i visited a children's home in India about two years ago, they were struggling to get their daily meal. They were depending on daily donation for vegetables and raw materials. Here, we are wasting food which are still edible because of our ignorance and greed. 

Clean Our Plates is a campaign to increase awareness on food waste. Based on my previous encounters on hunger issues, i really want to be part of this and here i am to raise fund for this campaign with amazing idea!!!
