Should Audrey Cut My Hair? #SERUMforAll

The Story

Hello everyone! This is Shy Kit.

If I successfully fundraise RM 1,000, I will let Audrey cut my hair (that I have kept since the beginning of MCO. It's the longest length that I have ever kept!). This will enable SERUM to provide 5,000 ml of hand sanitiser and 100 reusable face mask for 100 people in need such as refugees and urban poor. 

When I founded the SERUM Initiative in April, it was meant to be a one-off personal initiative. Along the way, I received more and more requests from the communities and NGOs in need, and that's when I realised there is an increasing need for hand sanitisers and face masks among the underserved communities across Malaysia. Therefore, we launched the Fundraising From Home program, in collaboration with NGOhub to upskill youths in fundraising skills and fundraise for an impact via SERUM's initiatives (to date, we have impacted almost 3,000 beneficiaries!).

Seeing how exciting and fun it is to fundraise for SERUM, I decided to join the fun too this month! I was asked 'what is the most precious thing you have now that you can sacrifice for your fundraising effort?'. The first thought that came to my mind was MY HAIR! Also, seeing how much Audrey has complaint about my hair, I decided to let her have the honour to cut my hair IF I successfully reach the targetted goal!

I started SERUM because I believe that everyone should have an equal chance of preventing the COVID-19 outbreak, regardless of your background and financial status. And I believe that we can all achieve this vision if we work together as Malaysians!
