Federation of Reproductive Health Associations, Malaysia (FRHAM) is formerly known as Federation of Family Planning Associations, Malaysia (FFPAM). It is a federation of 13 State Member Associations (State MAs) of State Family Planning Associations, Family Health Association, Family Health Development Association and Reproductive Health Association. It was established in 1958 with the aim of educating, promoting and supporting Malaysians in family planning, sexual and reproductive health and responsible parenthood.The 5A's represent the focal points of FRHAM: Access, Adolescent/Young People, AIDS/HIV, Advocacy and Abortion. FRHAM believe that the family as the basic unit of the society should be protected and developed through policies and intervention. It is basic right of the individuals to practice family planning because through spacing and timing of birth, family health particularly that of the mother and children can be enhanced leading to improvement in the socio-economic well-being of families. In the provision of various services to different target beneficiaries, we will not discriminate on the basic of sex , politics, race, religion or status. Services will be based on informed choice and no coercion will be used in the promotion of any services.
