Ajar-ajar Malaysia

Ajar-Ajar is a student education tuition aid programme for underprivileged school going children.

This volunteer-based programme provides two-ways learning opportunities for the children as well for the volunteer teachers or mentors. The first word of Ajar-ajar, ‘ajar’, stands for teaching (mengajar) while the second word, ‘ajar’, stands for learning (belajar). This highlights the objective of the programme where the students learn while the volunteers teach. This project off-sets tuition charges and alleviates academic and motivation problems faced by children.

The volunteers while providing 1-on-1 education coaching, build up a stronger relationship with the children and BE able to provide advice and counselling. The benefits are for the underprivileged children and for the volunteers as well.
