Leadership is one potential skill that can be found in everyone. But this skill needs self-exploration and practice in real life, especially among youth. This is because they will be leaders in every aspect, but most of the youth haven't required this skill. After they graduated, it became hard to practice this skill again because no one would be easy to apologize for mistakes in their career. In this campaign, we conduct three projects related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which are aligned with the United Nations.v
to contribute to the local community. There are:
1. Northern Youth Leadership Conference (NYLC)
Good mental health is increasingly recognised as a prerequisite for individual health, but below are some facts about mental health, especially in youth.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) World Mental Health (WMH) Surveys, three-fourths of mental disorders have their onset before the age of 24.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, student status was found to be a significant risk factor for developing depressive symptoms, compared with people with other occupational statuses.
These facts presented a major public health challenge for university students. Notwithstanding, mental health has also been a low priority in Southeastern Asia, especially in Malaysia, where awareness of mental health is low and prejudices and public stigma are widespread among the youth.
2. Fingerprint
The local art and cultural heritage are important resources for a country. The reason is that local art and cultural heritage can evidence the culture and history of a country. But the local art and cultural heritage within our community remain significantly underappreciated and underrecognized. Despite its rich history and artistic significance, a lack of awareness among community members hinders the preservation, celebration, and transmission of our unique cultural heritage.
3. Environmental. Cleansing. Habitation. Oasis. (ECHO)
Climate change is a worldwide environmental threat, and this process cannot return. Below are some facts about Malaysia.
It’s been estimated that Malaysia produces more than 365,000 metric tonnes of e-waste every single year. That’s heavier than the weight of the Petronas Twin Towers!
27% of Malaysians have thrown away clothing after wearing it just once because of fast fashion.
Do these facts have anything to do with climate change? The answer is yes.
E-waste disposal contributes to climate change due to the chemicals released when it is burned.
Fast fashion causes the depletion of non-renewable sources, plastic and synthetic fiber waste, the emission of greenhouse gasses, and the use of massive amounts of water and energy that can lead to severe climate change.
These three projects give the youth a platform to train their leadership skills. This is because we believe that youth will grow in a challenging environment when they conduct the activities in the program. At the same time, these projects are aligned with the SDG, which is an initiative by the United Nations to provide services to the community.
1. Northern Youth Leadership Conference (NYLC): SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
The NYLC 13.0 Project aligns with the Global Goal of SDG Target 3.4: By 2030, reduce premature mortality from non-communicable diseases by one-third through prevention and treatment and promote mental health and well-being.
The NYLC 13.0 Project is a 4-week volunteer project that aims to contribute to SDG 3—Good Health and Well-Being, organized by university students across Malaysia through the Youth Volunteer Initiative from AIESEC in Malaysia. Our volunteers are ready to commit their time and service to building a sustainable community for a better Malaysia by contributing good mental health to the community.
This project strives to achieve Sustainable Development Goals 3: Good Health and Well-Being, which aim to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
2. Fingerprint: SDG 4: Quality Education
Fingerprint 1.0 Project aligns with the global goal of SDG Target 4.4: By 2030, substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs, and entrepreneurship.
Fingerprint 1.0 Project is a 6-week volunteer project that aims to contribute to SDG 4: Quality Education, organised by university students across Global Volunteer Initiatives from AIESEC in Malaysia. Our volunteers are ready to commit their time and service to building a suitable community for a better Malaysia by contributing quilty education among the community.
This project strives to archive Sustainable Development Goals 4: Quality Education, which aim to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
3. Environmental. Cleaning. Habitation. Oasis. (ECHO): SDG 13: Climate Action
The ECHO 4.0 Project aligns with the global goal of SDG Target 13.3: Improve education, awareness-raising, and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction, and early warning.
The ECHO 4.0 Project is a 4-week volunteer project that aims to contribute to SDG 13—Climate Action—organized by university students across Malaysia through the Youth Volunteer Initiative from AIESEC in Malaysia. Our volunteers are ready to commit their time and service to building a sustainable community for a better Malaysia by contributing a suitable environment to the community.
This project strives to achieve Sustainable Development Goals 13: Climate Action, which aims to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
Once these projects are completed by AIESEC in Kedah-Perlis, this will have a significant impact on the youth and community. For youth, soft skills such as planning, organizing, leading, controlling, and so on will improve through these projects. Youth can also build up their confidence in a project by doing it boldly and training them to give out ideas and communicate with team members. For the community, the awareness of the community will increase, and the community will take care of these issues and take action immediately. These three projects also have a different impact on each other. The impact is:
1. Northern Youth Leadership Conference (NYLC): SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
Raising community awareness about mental health problems, reducing stigma associated with mental disorders, promoting mental health affairs, and preventing higher levels of psychological distress through individual education and outreach events
2. Fingerprint: SDG 4: Quality Education
Increase awareness about the benefits and possibilities of art-related skills in the development of young people and increase art activities in classes as a creative way to develop cognitive skills in our society.
3. Environmental. Cleaning. Habitation. Oasis. (ECHO): SDG 13: Climate Action
Educating communities about climate change and building action plans to reduce critical factors affecting the environment This is done through cultivating sustainable lifestyles and enabling youth to adopt and maintain sustainable lifestyles through hands-on practical activities that can empower youth to take tangible actions and create an action plan towards critical factors that will affect our environment.

Our Identity
AIESEC is the world's largest non-profit youth-run organization. It is an international non-governmental not-for-profit organisation that provides young people with leadership development, cross-cultural global internships, and volunteer exchange experiences across the globe. The organization focuses on empowering young leaders to make a positive impact on society through actions.
Our Vision
AIESEC strives for Peace and Fulfilment of Humankind's Potential as an organisation.
In today’s context, ‘Peace’ does not necessarily mean only avoiding war. Peace can symbolise a world that does not have conflicts that arise from cultural, religious, or other aspects of differences in humanity. Peace can also symbolise being in harmony with yourself. AIESEC strives to build a world where people can work towards their own understanding of peace while respecting and understanding the views of others.
Through Fulfilment of Humankind’s Potential, AIESEC strives for a world where people can be the best version of themselves.
Our Action
We place our confidence in youth because they have the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit that are needed to shape the future. They have the responsibility to improve tomorrow by choosing who they will be today. Hence, AIESEC is a platform for young leaders to run projects that are aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure its relevance to the local community needs. We aim to be part of the solution for the betterment of Malaysia.
