THE PROBLEM

Who are we?

Green Hero is an organisation that solves an environmental issue one step at a time and focuses on reducing food waste. We strive to create and empower the green community. We are always actively involved in rescuing edible food from wastage and giving it to those in need for free or selling them at an affordable price.

Did you know that 3,000 tonnes of edible food are wasted daily? The food wastage in Malaysia is enough to feed 12 million people three times a day. Statistics show that the amount of food wasted in the world is increasing every year. However, this doesn't mean that everyone gets enough food. Hunger is still rising. Besides, food waste contributes to greenhouse emissions and climate change.

We, Green Hero, hope to stop food wastage in Malaysia by rescuing them and giving them out to those in need. 

THE SOLUTION

By having this National food waste awareness program, we'll increase society's awareness of the issue and get F&B involved in our food rescue movement. We want to help the needy by donating the donate surplus food to them when we're reducing food waste

1. Tracker for F&B to track their food waste daily

2. Awards for 10 F&B in each state for the least amount of food waste created 

3. Using the merchandise, including T-shirts, tote bags, and pins to spread awareness

THE IMPACT

Once this programme is complete,  
1. Public always thinks twice before throwing their food and consume more responsibly.
2. Food wastage in Malaysia will be tackled
3. Edible food will be rescued and channeled to those in need.
