Celebrate this Raya by clothing others to celebrate it just as well

THE PROBLEM

As a part of this sacred season, empathising and aiding the needs of the less fortunate has always been one of the beautiful themes it follows. With that, we at Yayasan Chow Kit would like to give you the opportunity to contribute to the lives of the needy in our community this Ramadhan.

In addition to providing educational and co-curricular activities access to children and teenagers, we also provide food to ensure that our students are receiving sufficient nourishment. As in our other campaign that focuses on bringing food to these children and their families this Ramadhan, this one emphasises on the celebration of Aidilfitri with hopes that our kids that we help raise here at YCK get to celebrate it with the clothing they would require that they could use for celebration as well as daily utilisation.

These individuals come from less fortunate but loving backgrounds and their families do as much as they can to provide with whatever little they may have. Just like many of us who practice the Muslim faith this Ramadhan, they too would be fasting this month but with the Covid-19 regulations in place, things will be a little different.

THE SOLUTION

We along with many generous others used to be able to run a spread for these kids and their families to break their fast which really took a massive burden off from their shoulders. For Raya Aidilfitri, we would treat them to a colourful occasion with meals and clothes for them to enjoy and embrace. This time around, they would have to be conducting the breaking of their fast as well as Raya Aidilfitri celebrations from the confines of their homes and with the resources they have.

However, with your help, they will receive the dresses and shirts, shoes and slippers, pants and scarfs that they deserve as many other children their age around the country would enjoy as well. Such gifts would also bring joy to the faces of their parents and families to see that there are people in our lovely society during this lovely season that actually do emphasis and care for the misfortunate and financially handicapped as themselves.

THE IMPACT

What your donation would do and how it would help our kids

Your generous donations count to make a difference with every ringgit no less than the other. To be precise, every package of clothing given to each of the one hundred children we treasure and help raise in our community will cost RM100. The clothes will be specifically fitted to each child and will be given to them to be worn on Raya Aidilfitri as well as whenever else they see fit and comfortable. It will be no less than what many of us and our children will be embracing this Raya Aidilfitri as all of us who celebrate it deserve.

Just like all of us, their gains become the gains of their families. Such a notion is evident when we see the families of these children have their faces filled with joy and graciousness when they see their children’s eyes spark with joy upon being presented with these gifts and enjoying them as they put them on on such a joyous and colourful occasion.

Our target goal to reach for this campaign to clothe our kids this Raya would be RM10,000, given RM100 worth of clothes to 100 kids under our pupilage to bring them the colour and comfort of embracing Raya Aidilfitri.

Donating is really simple and secure. The money will directly go to Yayasan Chow Kit.
