Youth in the northern region is not aware that actually they have the potential to contribute in order to improve the world issue and make a difference in the world due to lacking self and world awareness. Lack of self-awareness due to limited opportunity for self-discovery in daily life. Students are not aware of their strengths and weaknesses thus do not focus on further self-improvement and development.
Secondly, a lack of awareness of what is happening to their surrounding for both local issues and world issues.
Students are lacking exposure to surrounding tissues and do not aware of the possibility of they can contribute in order to improve the world issues.
The project consists of several components for both secondary school students and global volunteers.
1st - Train the Trainer (TtT)
Which aims to equip our volunteers with enough knowledge and skills when we are engaging and teaching students about increased awareness of the responsibilities of leadership.
2nd - School Workshops
Engage, empower and encourage every single youth to discover their potential by embracing self-realization and self-development.
3rd - Leadership ConferenceT
4th - Global Village
Which aims to foster cultural exchange with the global volunteers showcasing their food, cultural elements from their home country.
Northern Youth Leadership Conference has reached more than 40 Global Volunteers, 58 Secondary Schools and 1000 + Students from the Year 2015 - 2019. The Northern Youth Leadership Conference was the second such program by AIESEC. UUM had organized, having run a similar effort last year. The international student leaders came from the global AIESEC’s Exchange Program. This year, the exchange students were from 8 other countries, spanning Europe, Central Asia, East, and South East Asia and Australia. Apart from a 3 day 2 nights conference for students from schools in Kedah and Perlis area. The Northern Youth Leadership Conference (NYLC) had a component where the AIESEC leaders conducted workshops in several leading schools in that region.

Our Identity
AIESEC is the world's largest non-profit youth-run organization. It is an international non-governmental not-for-profit organisation that provides young people with leadership development, cross-cultural global internships, and volunteer exchange experiences across the globe. The organization focuses on empowering young leaders to make a positive impact on society through actions.
Our Vision
AIESEC strives for Peace and Fulfilment of Humankind's Potential as an organisation.
In today’s context, ‘Peace’ does not necessarily mean only avoiding war. Peace can symbolise a world that does not have conflicts that arise from cultural, religious, or other aspects of differences in humanity. Peace can also symbolise being in harmony with yourself. AIESEC strives to build a world where people can work towards their own understanding of peace while respecting and understanding the views of others.
Through Fulfilment of Humankind’s Potential, AIESEC strives for a world where people can be the best version of themselves.
Our Action
We place our confidence in youth because they have the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit that are needed to shape the future. They have the responsibility to improve tomorrow by choosing who they will be today. Hence, AIESEC is a platform for young leaders to run projects that are aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure its relevance to the local community needs. We aim to be part of the solution for the betterment of Malaysia.
