WHAT IS MOVEMBER

There is a good reason why MAKNA is doing this campaign. We want men to be more proactive and to know about their health and early signs of prostate and testicular cancer. November has become a dedicated month for male cancer awareness. We want men to grow mustaches and beard around the month of November.

The mustache becomes the symbol to grab the attention and get people talking to raise awareness and funds on male health issues especially prostate and testicular cancer.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Anyone can join the Movember campaign. You don’t need to actually grow a moustache. You can put on a fake one, or draw one on that includes ladies too. All you need to be a Movember participant is to be willing to show off a moustache, in some form or other.

HOW TO SUPPORT

We have a few Mo Challenges for you to raise funds:

1. Grow a Moustache

It is as simply as growing and grooming a moustache for the rest of the month. Start clean-shaven, then let your Mo take the grow during the month of November.  

2. Moustache Day

For the ones that don’t/can't grow a moustache, you can still help the cause and make a difference. Put on a moustache replacement. Add on any other things you want. Extra points for crazy colours, crazy moustaches, and all kinds of creativity! To get more donations, challenge yourself, by using it in the office, shopping mall, wherever people will see your fabulous Mo.

3. Dare Me Blue

Dare yourself to colour your hair BLUE to raise even more funds. A radical challenge, that your friends and family will give you money to see happen. Raise RM5,000 (or any set amount) and the effort can be a combination of No. 1 & No. 2.

These are our Mo Challenges, but you can do much Mo. If you have Mo ideas, do them! The Mo creative you are, Mo FUN it is & Mo FUNds you raise!

HOW TO RAISE FUNDS?

1. Set up a Fundraiser Page

Set up your own personal fundraising page that you can share with your social circle to collect online donations. It's really easy, just click on the blue button 'Fundraise' at the right and fill in your details.

2. Set goal

RM500 can make a huge impact on men's lives but, don’t stop there, you can aim for a higher amount! And if you go past your target—we’ll be even more impressed.

3. Update

Take some time to send out weekly update emails that document your moustache growth or other fundraising efforts to your network. Use your social media channel, or the updates feature on our page to do this.

THE IMPACT

Cancer isn’t something anyone should have to deal with. Especially testicular and prostate cancer. By joining the Movember campaign you can help make a difference! The funds raised will ensure an uninterrupted supply of financial assistance for cancer patients. This assistance will provide surgical equipment, liquid food, prostheses, prescribed drugs, and scholarships for patients.
