The “Lunch Box for the Hungry Project” is a food donation project that aims to feed the hungry, destitute, and poor souls living within the vicinity of Great Heart Community Centre (GHCC) with the hope that it may somehow ease their burden and help change their lives for a better tomorrow.
THE SOLUTION
Free lunches will be given out to pre-registered and walk-in clients in the form of prepacked lunch boxes at GHCC on every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. 100 sets of lunch boxes will be allocated at each day’s lunch session to cater to 100 clients on a first-come first-served basis.
How the funds will be used:
RM5/lunch box x 100 pax x 13 sessions/month x 3 months
THE IMPACT
A single father who is struggling to provide decent meals for his disabled child while paying for his medical bills at the same time, a group of poverty stricken students from a nearby primary school who would otherwise be unable to concentrate on their studies on an empty stomach, a 60-year-old unemployed single senior woman who is without a family and has difficulties getting food on a daily basis. These are some of the clients that we have been serving through this project, whom are grateful to be able to have 3 decent meals in a week.
