Meet Ika *false name - identity protected*, a single mother with financial insecurity. She is a mother of 2, striving hard to make ends meet and she is not financially ready if MCO 2.0 is lifted. She is highly talented in baking and she enjoys it very much, but unfortunately she doesn’t have the right tool (eg: oven) to transform her passion into business due to lack of start-up fund to start her own home-baked business.
We have identified a community of vulnerable mothers, sit one-on-one with them to understand their struggles. Here are several problems that our mothers met:
- They are highly talented in baking skills and they are passionate about it. However, they do not have the basic tools (eg: oven, steamer etc) to transform their passion into business as they lack the funding to purchase the required kitchenware.
- They are capable of meeting high market demand but they do not have the enough/bigger kitchenware such as oven and chiller.
Ibupreneur aims to empower our beneficiaries (eg: single mothers, unemployed, B40 and retired women with low EPF levels) to grow into micro-entrepreneurs right from their home-ready skills with the funding that we're able to provide them via this crowdfunding. We hope that the start-up capital is able to become a motivation and stepping stone to kickstart their own home-bake sales and be micro-entrepreneurs.
Ibupreneur aims to provide RM200 each to our 25 beneficiaries located in Klang Valley. Through this crowdfunding, we believe that with each RM200 donated, our beneficiaries are able to improve their household environment and purchase the required kitchenware to kick start their business.
With RM5000 raised, 25 vulnerable and financially dependent mothers will receive RM200 per person, as their start-up capital to purchase the basic tools to kickstart their home business, shaping them into micro-entrepreneurs. This will improve their financial stability and change their lives in ways we could never imagined!
“When my husband passed away, baking has motivated me to get up and support my little angel.” - Ely, one of our Ibupreneurs
